Contract Specialist, LANA LYSKIN, 805-982-1106 The Navy is seeking to
acquire engineering research support for programs involving ocean work
systems. The purpose of this requirement is to provide for engineering
research, development and evaluation to support projects in ocean work
systems and other related programs that are specifically directed to
increasing the Navy's capability to conduct ocean construction,
maintenance, inspection, repair, salvage and recovery operations. The
equipment and techniques developed will be applied to systems for
environments ranging from arctic to tropic and at all water depths
where construction, maintenance, inspection, repair, and salvage
operations may be needed to support national security requirements. The
contract work will include development of technology, equipment,and
techniques for conducting work operations in diver, Remotely Operated
Vehicle (ROV), and other related weightless or hostile environments.
The Navy anticipates a Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee Delivery Order contract will
be issued. This will be a five year contract with a base year and four
option years. The anticipated level of effort is 8,500 for each year.
