Reynolds Electrical & Engineering Co., Inc (REECo), Prime Management
and Operations Contractor to the Nevada Field Office of the U.S.
Department of Energy (DOE) seeks qualified sources that can perform a
market analysis. Through U.S. DOE funding, EG&G Measurements Inc
(EG&G/EM) has developed technologies which may have commercial
potential. A market analysis of each of the below identified
technologies is necessary to determine their respective commercial
potential prior to initiating any licensing, advertising, techical
discussions, and agreements. Activities to be performed under any
solicitation issued as a result of this announcement would include, but
not be limited to identifying appropriate market segment(s), assessing
the value of each technology to each potential market segment, and
assisting in identifying potential partners in each targeted market
segment. Examples of technological areas in which candidates might
reside include the following: radiologic sensors and sensor systems;
chemical sensors and sensor systesms; remote sensing technologies;
hardware and software system components; data transmission and
recording techniques; mechanical innovations necessary to support
various technical systems; and environmental waste handling techniques.
Examples of specific technologies which are possible candidates for
commercialization include: Ground Penetrating Radar, believed to be
useful in mining, environmental remediation, etc.; Aerosol Can Emptying
Device, unique means of capturing both propellant and residual contents
in separate containers, this minimizing hazardous wastes; Leak
Detector, used for detecting small leaks in large permanent flanges
such as those mating LNG and chemical transmission lines; Blade Guard,
improved safety device for operators cutting laminates; Non-Contract
Temperature Measurement System, technique using thermographic phosphors
to precisely measure high temperatures of moving objects; Generic
Interface to High Speed, Hard Disk Array, hardware providing simplified
communication between various data generating devices and high
performance computer storage system; and Carbon-Fiber Pneumatic Pole,
means of manufacturing lightweight, extendable poles. EG7G/EM does not
intent to award a subcontract based on this request, or to otherwise
pay for any information solicited. Firms interested in being considered
for a forthcoming solicitation involving the performance of market
analyses on one or more of the identified technology areas, should
proviede name, address, business size, phone number, facsimile number,
point of contact, and technical field(s) of interest in an envelope or
package, clearly marked ``Sources Sought Information.'' Send to the
attention of Dennis Jeffrey, Chief, Purchasing Agent, EG&G, P.O. Box
98521, M/S 562, Las Vegas, NV 89193-8521, no later than 4:30 p.m.
