approximation. This is a sole source requirement to Electronic Data
Systems, Unigraphics Division, 3945 Freedom Circle, Suite 130, Santa
Clara, CA 95054. Contractor shall provide all labor, tools, parts,
materials, installation, and transportation necessary to provide
Software Maintenance support for the Unigraphics II CAD/CAM software
installed on a Hewlett Packard network consisting of six Apollo
9000/730 WorkStations with CRX-24Z graphics running under the the HP-UX
9.01 Operating System. Installation media for this network shall
preferably consist of CD/ROM disc or, alternatively, 4mm DAT magnetic
tape cartridge. Use of NetLS for this network is preferred, but not
required. Contractor shall provide verbal instructions and problem
solving assistance by telephone in connection with the use of said
software at no charge, and will notify the government of program errors
when identified. Contractor shall provide documentation updates in both
hard copy pen & ink and CD/ROM or 4mm DAT magnetic tape cartridge
format. The FIRMR does not apply to this acquisition as this is a
Mission Critical Computer Resource (MCCR). FIRMR
201.39.101-3(b)(1)(ii)(B) applies to this acquisition. Contract period
estimated 01 Oct 94 through 30 Sep 95 with four one year options
ending 30 Sep 99 if options are exercised. The approximate
issue/response date will be 30 Mar 95. No telephone requests. Only
written or faxed requests received directly from the requestor are
acceptable. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or
quotation which shall be considered. Authority: 10 U.S.C. 2304(C)(1),
Justification: Supplies (or Services) required are available from only
one or a limited number of responsible source(s) and no other type of
supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. An Ombudsman
has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors
during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose
of the Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program
director or contracting officer, but to communicate contractor
concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate
Government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain
strict confidentiality as to the source of the concern. The Ombudsman
does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source
selection process. Interested parties are invited to call the
