Standards & Technology has a requirement for one (1) particle
analyzing instrument for particle characterization based on Acoustic
Attenuation Spectroscopy in the 1 to 100 MHz frequency range. This
instrument shall be capable of measuring particle size in the range of
0.01 to 10 micrometers, with a particle concentration range of 1 to 50
volume %. It shall consist of a four (4) color, ink jet printer for
hardcopy output of data, as well as appropriate computer software and
hardware for measurement and analysis control. All necessary tubing,
pumps, and sample containers shall also be furnished by the contractor.
Installation, support and shipment of all materials shall be the
responsibility of the contractor. The F.O.B. Point shall be
destination, Gaithersburg, Maryland. The required delivery time is 45
days after award of contract. It is the intent of the Government to
negotiate with PenKem, Inc. of Bedford Hills, New York, in accordance
with 41 U.S.C. 253 (c)(1), as being the only responsible source able to
satisfy the needs of this agency. No solicitation package is available.
