76 -- FEDLINK BOOKS AND LIBRARY PUBLICATIONS ACQUISITION SERVICES SOL RFP96-1 POC Janice Aiken, Contract Specialist. The Library of Congress is seeking requests from potential offerors who can supply non-serial publications and associated acquisition support services to federal libraries, information centers, and other federal offices. The non-serial category includes disparate publication formats such as books, reports, treatises, encyclopedias, atlases, sound recordings, videotapes, audio-visual materials, etc. Vendors typically supply requested materials from in-house stock or acquire the items directly from the publisher. Vendors must supply publications as ordered in an effective and efficient manner, and must also provide a variety of associated services that support the execution and administration of library acquisitions operations, and certain options in delivery and physical processing of materials. This service will be used by Federal Agencies world-wide who are members of the Federal Library and Information Center (FLICC) Federal Library and Information Network (FEDLINK) Program. The solicitation is divided into five lots which define five different but related aspects of non-serial publications acquisitions: Lot 1 - Firm Order Service - Subject Specialization, Lot 2 - Firm Order Service - Format or Source Specialization, Lot 3 - Approval Plan Service, Lot 4 - Leasing Plan Service, and Lot 5 - Technical and/or Order Processing Services. Vendors must offer products and services under either Lot 1 and/or Lot 2, and may also offer under optional Lots 3, 4, and/or 5. Multiple awards are anticipated. ALL REQUESTS MUST BE IN WRITING.
