A -- ASTRONOMY AND SOLAR PHYSICS COMPUTER SERVICES & DATA ANALYSIS SUPPORT SOL RFP5-13231/203 POC Jim Debelius, Contract Specialist, 301-286-2028; Cynthia L. NASA/Goddard Space Flight (GSFC) intends to issue RFP5-13231/203 on a competitive basis to provide for on-site services in support of, but not restricted to, the Laboratory for Astronomy and Solar Physics, Code 680 within the Sciences Directorate. The contractor will provide support of computer system management, including the operating system and application software, the development and use of scientific and engineering data analysis systems, scientific data analysis, and the engineering efforts that develop and test scientific instrumentation for the Astronomy and Solar Physics activities in the Space Sciences Directorate. Specifically, the Space Sciences programs consist of research in a broad range of science disciplines, including solar physics and space plasma physics, astrophysics, astronomy, and planetary studies. Data system support for this research includes scientific data analysis; modeling and simulation of physical processes; development of flight project data systems; field experiments; development of large-scale data management; archival and delivery systems; systems analysis programming; instrumentation engineering and network design/implementation. This will be a cost-plus-award-fee service contract with a basic level of effort and two options for additional levels of effort. The target level of effort equates to approximately 77 productive work-years. There are options which provide for an addtional 224 work-years over the the 5-year period of performance. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by NASA/GSFC. It is anticipated that the RFP will be released in early April 1995. All requests for copies of the RFP must be submitted in writing to NASA/GSFC, Code 286, Attn: Mr. Jim Debelius, Greenbelt, Maryland, 20771. The RFP will also be made available through INTERNET via a World Wide Web server in the GSFC, Management Operations Directorate, Procurement Home Page area. You may access it on drop box ''Anonymous FTP.'' The files reside on the GENESIS procurement server in a PUBLIC area (GENESIS.GSFC.NASA.GOV/PUBLIC) under the following directory structure: \SOLICITA\R13231SO. A README.TXT file will indicate the file is in WordPerfect 6.1. Any inconsistency between the printed RFP and any amendments and the electronic RFP shall be resolved by giving precedence to the printed RFP and amendments. (0062)
