Chavez, (402)294-4103/9604. Notice of intent to negotiate on a sole
source basis with Fire Arms Training Systems Inc. for the purchase of
a firearms Training System. The system consists of the following items:
(1 each) Marksmanship Trainer Four-Man, P/N F004. The five-lane
simulator is capable of training five individuals simultaneously using
F.A.T.S. modified weapons on judgmental or tactical scenarios and
qualification/practice shooting ranges. This system enables five
individuals to train together as a team while identifying each person's
hits and misses, either in real time or on the replay mode. Consists
primarily of a console, which houses the main electronic components in
a unit mounted on caster wheels for mobility. The following unique
features are included: Instructor console, houses both an instructor
keyboard and hard copy printer. The system is operated through eighteen
push buttons and the instructor can control the training session
through this console. Screen, a large 11.5 foot (3.5m) diagonal screen,
with a self supporting frame. Sound System, four quality speakers which
produce a superior sterophonic sound with ''sourround sound'' effects.
Instructor's Monitor, color monitor enabling the instructor to observe
the training from another room or a distant part of the training area
if desired. Miscellaneous Accessories, a consumables kit with 200
sheets of fanfold printer paper, one cartridge ribbon, operation manual
and training sign. Warranty, a full twelve month warranty on all parts
and labor. This includes access to a toll free service hotline for
inquiries concerning system problems and questions. F.A.T.S. 3 Upgrade
Package (1 each), p/n UG005. M-16s Colt Service Rifle 1001817, (5
each), p/n RFA-16. M-9 Beretta 92F 700761 (5 each), p/n SA-92. Includes
M-9 conversion kit (5 each). Includes AF SP/LE Training Package (1
each), p/n 1010048. The package contains the following software: Los
Angeles Police Department, Branching Disc 1, (1 each), p/n LVD0015.
Disc contains a total of 29 scenarios, 20 of which will branch six to
eight different ways depending on how the officer being trained reacts
at the onset and his shot placement as the scene plays out, commonly
referred to as ''fall of fire.'' In addition, the scenarios contain
instructor activated branching, which enables the instructor to modify
the scenario while it is in progress, depending on the officer's
reactions, voice commands, concealment, etc. Military Marksmanship
Training Disc IV, (1 each), p/n LVD0025. Provides all firing exercises
and ranges for the M-16 and M-60. Fundamental, diagnostic, advanced
marksmanship, moving targets, day/night exercises and introduction to
collective firing tasks. United States Marine Corps Marksmanship
Training and Combat Scenarios Video, (Defense), (1 each), p/n LVD0036.
Six combat scenarios, pistol and ''KD'' ranges and unknown distance,
random target rifle range for the USMC. United StatesMarine Corps
Marksmanship Training and Combat Scenarios Video Disc (Offense), (1
each), p/n LVD0037. Five combat scenarios for the USMC, includes pistol
and file ''KD'' ranges. Desert Training, Disc 1, (1 each), p/n LVD0040.
This disc contains a desert environment for reaction courses, ranges
and combat scenarios. Provides individual and collective training in
target identification, acquistion and engagements under the conditions
peculiar to the desert, including mirage. Includes S.W.A.T. Disc 1, (1
each), p/n LVD0011. This disc combines requirements for the use of
handguns and rifles in the presentation of 18 scenarios. The scenarios
include a wide variety of multiple threat situation taped under
differing conditions of visibility. Topic areas includes several
hostile fire door entries, hostage situations, activities in buildings
and activities on board boats. It is the Governments belief that Fire
Arms Training Systems Inc., is the only manufacturer capabile of
meeting the minimum needs of the Government. Interested parties may
identify their interest and capabilities to respond to this requirement
by submitting technical and pricing data within 15 calendar days from
the publication date of this synopsis. Information received as a result
of this notice of intent will be considered solely for the purpose of
determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A
determination by the Government not to open the requirment for
competition based upon responses to the notice is solely within the
discretion of the Government. The Government will not pay for
informationreceived. All responses must be in writing. FAX number (402)

responses are received from interested parties, the Government will
begin negotiations with Fire Arms Training Systems Inc., for the
