NASA-Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, CA has a requirement for the design and/or fabrication of precision experimental research models and hardware. This hardware includes wind tunnel models, model components, model support systems, composite blades, mechanical and/or test equipment, space flight hardware, force or force/ moment measuring devices, space flight and aircraft precision sheet metal components, and any other precision resesarch hardware that may be required during the term of the contract. Items may be fabricated from metals, ceramics, wood, modable or formable material, fiberglass, carbon fibers, or combination of these materials. The selected contractor(s) will be required to have in-house resources to perform essentially all of the work required. Award is anticipated 01 September 1995 for a one year base period with option provisions for four additional one year periods. It is not expected to exceed five years without recompetition. The estimated level-of-effort for each of the five years of the resulting contract is 20,000 direct labor hours. The resulting contract(s) will also contain an option for additional level-of- effort providing for an increase of up to 290,000 (58,000 hours per year) direct labor hours over the expected five year term. The major categories of effort are precision machine work, sheet metal work and design. Multiple awards are anticipated. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the Agency. See Note 1. (0065)
