COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MARCH 8,1995 PSA#1298National Institute of Standards and Technology, Acquisition and
Assistance Division, Building 301, Room Bll7, Gaithersburg, MD 20899 99 -- SOURCES SOUGHT FOR DESIGN OF A GLOBAL TIME SYNCHRONIZATION AND
RESET CAPABILITY POC POC: Alan Mink (301) 975-5681 Design of a global
time synchronization and reset capability for the family of MultiKron
printed circuit board toolkit implementations. Statement of work:
Design a capability that will provide a way to synchronize the clock of
different MultiKron performance measurement devices that are at
different locations, as well as, provide a global reset. These
locations may be separated by only meters, as in the same building, or
by 100s of Km, as in East Coast and West Coast of the USA. It is
expected that two different designs will be proposed, depending on the
separation distance. One for small distances, which would be
relatively inexpensive to build, and the other long distances, which
may be more expensive to build. The synchronization achieved shall be
on the order of microseconds, and the rest signal shall be immune to
noise which may cause false resets to occur. As a second-year option,
the following may be invoked: refinement of both schematic designs, via
simulation, etc., to bring these designs to a level where they can be
readily fabricated. Interested parties should submit a letter to CSL
indicating their qualifications and intentions of bidding. The letter
should be addressed to: National Institute of Standards and Technology,
