REPLACEMENT Sol 482980-95-A-0114. Due 032895. Contact, Sherman Sims,
214/819-7236. Replace existing parking lot paving with new concrete
paving including new curbing. Install new storm drainage system in
place of old system; rewire existing parking lot lighting; provide new
handicap ramps; restripe parking lot; and provide some landscaping.
Some vehicles will be relocated during construction, but phasing of
construction will be required to allow for Postal operations to
continue while under construction at the Julius Melcher Station,
Houston, TX 77027-9998. Estimated cost range $350,000 - $395,000 and
construction time is 150 calendar days. A 20% proposal bond is
required. The successful contractor will be required to provide 100%
Performance and 50% Payment Bonds. Successful offeror must submit their
Subcontrcting Plan for Small and Minority-Owned and Women-Owned
Business initially and thereafter with their progress payments. The
contractor shall subcontract with minority business firms in an anount
aggregating not less than 10% of the total value of its subcontracts.
Offers will be received in this offie, prior to, but not later than
3:30 p.m. on March 28, 1995. This is a request for proposals,
therefore, no public opening will be conducted. The number of offers
received, the identity of the offerors, the amount of any one offer, or
relative standing of offeror will not be disclosed to anyone until
after award of a contract is made and the request is submitted in
writing. Proposal documents, plans and specifications will be available
on February 28, 1995 at a cost of $25.00 per set (NON-REFUNDABLE)
payable by check or money order only. Requests for packages shall be
forwarded to Dallas Facilities Service Office, U.S. Postal Service,
P.O. Box 667180, Dallas, TX 75266-7180, Attn: Bea Trotman. Checks or
money orders must be made payable to Disbursing Officer, U.S. Postal
Service. Plans may be inspected at the issuing office and any questions
and/or information regarding this solicitation may be obtained by
calling Mary-Ellen Bothwell at 214/819-7217. Offerors MUST submit their
requests for plans and proposals by one of the methods offered by the
U.S. Postal Service (First Class, Priority Mail, or Express Mail), or
