Specialised support panels, 9'L X 5'W X 1 1/16'' thick, made of 0.96'' thick aluminum honeycomb core 1/4'' .0015 (3.4) 5052, with skin plates 0.080'' 5052H32 aluminum. The panel is reinforced all around by 1'' square, machined down to 0.020'', extruded aluminum tubing 1/8'' thick. Four corners are reinforced by L-shaped solid aluminum with 3/8-16 tapped holes for lifting purposes. Both skin plates are held together by adhesive & by countesunk aluminum screws & countersunk blind rivet nuts. The panel has 320 holes drilled through one face only & 320 holes drilled through both faces & installed with countersunk screws & countersunk blind rivet nuts. Each panel has 2 rows of 20 holes each to accommodate the assembly of G.F.M. grommets. Finished panel has 4 through holes on each short side & 8 through holes on a long edge. Panels must support 15,000 pounds distributed transverse load on three sides w/o permanent deformation. Due to the nature of the item no Request for Deviation/Waiver shall be accepted by the contracting activity. Quantity: 6 each. Material will be shipped to : Receiving Officer, Indian Head Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center, 101 Strauss Avenue, Indian Head, MD 20640-5035. Delivery schedule: 6 weeks after date of contract.
