The Internal Revenue Service is seeking information from firms currently operating a nationwide warehouse and distribution system. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) concluded that IRS' stored property (furniture and equipment) can be more effectively and economically managed by consolidating its 71 warehouse holdings into three warehouse locations natiowide. These facilities would provide property storage and distribution services for all offices nationwide. The consolidated warehoues would be locat4ed so that all parts of the country could be serviced within one to two days. Property roted through these warehouses may originate from any office location, depending upon the assigned customers and available space; however, normally an office would work through its assigned property warehouse. The property warehouses will operate by receiving, storing, distributing and disposing property as requested by the customer office. Firms are requested to provide capability statements describing their experience in this area. (Firms should descirbe any recent or current projects in these areas and provide customer information for each.
