The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) in support of the Federal acquisiton streamlining act of 1994 and presidential directives, will sponsor a series of free supplier conference for all current and potential Federal suppliers. The MOVE to electronic COM merce systems will simplify and streamline the purchasing process while promoting customer service and COST-effectiveness. This electronic exchange of information between the Private sector and the Federal Government will also increase competition by providing access to federal Contracting opportunities for all suppliers who wish to do business with the Government. The conferences will tell suppliers about electronic data interchange (EDI), electronic Commerce (EC), the new Federal government architecture for EC. Information will also be provided to specifically address how suppliers can soon do business with TACOM and other agencies within the federal Government, electronically. Suppliers will be able to ask questions and GET A basic understanding of how EDI can help your business. Suppliers who now use EDI with other trading partners should attend to learn how to include TACOM as a electronic trading partner. The conference will begin March 29-30, 1995, and will be held generally once a month over approximately 24 months.
