Construction Section, (817) 222-4394. Replace existing roof structure;
fabricate and erect a new roof over the crew quarters of the Gallup,
New Mexico Air Route Surveillance Radar Facility (ARSR). The work will
involve, partial demolition of the existing roof which consists of a
steel standing seam roof and structural steel, plus fabrication and
erection of new redirected rood. Work will also involve; rough
carpentry, installing siding and mansard panels and painting. Estimated
price range is between $50,000 and $100,000. This is a Mountain top
facility and the work has to be completed by October 1, 1995. The
proposed procurement is unrestricted regarding business size. The BOD
is an approximate date only. For Minority, Women-Owned and
Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation
(DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization has
programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business
enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding
assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available
under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates
up to $500,000 per contract to provide accounts receivable financing.
The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid,
performance and payment bonds up to $500,000 per contract. DOT provides
an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses.
