The Environmental Protection Agency anticipates the award of a firm-fixed price construction contract to provide all labor, materials, equipment and services for a Contractor to replace two water-cooled centrifugal chillers. The existing chillers utilize refrigerant R-11 which will not be manufactured after January 1996. The new chillers will utilize refrigerant R-134A, as furnished by the manufacturer used by the successful contractor. Piping modifications will be made to allow operators to use either primary chilled water pump with either chiller. Chiller controls will be coordinated with the existing building HVAC controls by the contractor to essentially duplicate current sequences of operation. The work shall be performed in compliance with all applicable federal, state and local regulations governing this construction project. The work shall be performed by persons trained, knowledgeable, licensed and qualified in chillers. The Project is estimated in the $1,000,000 to $5,000,000 range. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be ready for issuance around the 28th of March with a due date around April 28, 1995. This is not a Small Business Set-Aside. The size standard for a small business is average annual receipts for the preceding 3 fiscal years of $7,000,000.00.
