The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, Coastal Systems Station, Panama City, Florida, intends to award a sole-source contract to Nichols Research Corporation (NRC) for contractor modification of existing mine detection algorithm tool (MDART) as well as data analysis of target imagery using MDART. Under a previous contract, NRC developed MDART for the Coastal Systems Station. The MDART makes use of another tool and computer code known as the Modular Algorithm Concept Evaluation Tool (MACET) which NRC developed. NRC has just completed a number of enhancements to the MACET which are required to conduct the performance evaluations of Government furnished mine detection algorithms. As the sole developer and maintainer of MACET, NRC is uniquely the only contractor able to enchance the MACET-based MDART to allow the mine detection algorithm analysis and modification.
