U.S. Army Aberdeen Proving Ground has a requirement to purchase the
following: ProLiant 2000, Compaq P/N 148400-407, Model 5/66-4200A with
32MB ram, 3.5'' floppy drive, 32 bit Net Flex Controller, CD-ROM
drive, two 2.1GB SCSI drives and Smart SCSI Array, fault management
software and keyboard with 3 year warranty and the following salient
characteristics - 66Mhz dual intel pentium, upgradeable to future
processor board upgrades, 64 bit CPU bus, 32 bit I/O bus, 128 bit bus
to main memory with maximum throughput in excess of 250 MB/sec., server
must be certified by Banyan using dual processing (SMP), must use disk
array technology, 64MB advanced error correcting using industry
standard SIMMS expandable to 512MB, advanced ECC memory must be able to
correct single, dual, and four adjacent bit errors without causing
system failure, memory speed )=70NS and maximum memory expansion
)500MB, minimum 256KB second level, external write back cache per
installed CPU, each with own controller, data path to CPU 64 bit or
greater, hard drive controller must be 32 bit EISA card with RAID 0, 1,
4, and 5 independent of operating system being used, controller must
provide automatic rebuild, without operator intervention, when failed
drive is replaced, controller must support 14 drives off of two
separate SCSI channels for internal hard drives or external hard
drives, minimum of five internal, hot swappable drive bays, minimum of
three accessible access bays, and computer must include fault
management software which can be integrated into third party network
management software, 4 ea; Compaq P/N 146742-004, 2.1 GB pluggable
SCSI-2 hard drive, 12 ea; Compaq P/N 149912-001, 32 MB memory expansion
kit 4 x 8MB/70NS, 4 ea; Compaq P/N 148622-001, 5/66 ProLiant system
processor board, 4 ea; Compaq P/N 142181-001, 4/16GB turbo DAT drive,
4 ea; Compaq P/N 137611-001, 4.0 GB DDS DAT cartridge, 50 ea. NOTE -
All equipment supplied under this action shall be equipped with the
energy efficient low power standby feature as defined by the EPA Energy
Star computers program. Delivery 90 days ARO. FOB Destination
Alexandria, VA 22333. This is a notification of intent to acquisition
in accordance with FIRMR 201-39.803. All responses from responsible
sources will be fully considered. As a result of analyzing responses to
this synopsis of intent, the contracting officer may determine that a
solicitation will be issued. If a solicitation is issued, no additional
synopsis will be published. Any such solicitation will be issued to the
intended schedule vendor and all firms that respond to this synopsis of
intent or otherwise request a copy of the solicitation. All responses
to this synopsis shall include pricing data. If no affirmative written
documentation/technical specifications are received within 15 calendar
days after publication of this synopsis to the effect that a comparable
sources is available or that it is more advantageous to the government
than purchasing from the ADP schedule, order will be placed with
Compaq Computer Corporation, P.O. Box 692025, Houston, TX 77269-2025
against their GSA schedule contract GS00K93AGS6391 PS01. RFQ
