This announcement has been released to amend original SOL MLKT-95-02 as follows: The program will consist of 42 month effort, which includes a 14 month base program, a 24 month option and an additional 4 months of effort to prepare the final report, to conduct a Manufacturing Technology project in the area of multi-bandgap III-V solar cells. The purpose of this effort will be to enable the production of multi-bandgap III-V solar cells with greater than 24 percent efficiency for space power systems. The base program will establish and demonstrate a baseline production capability for multi-bandgap III-V solar cells with greater than 24 percent efficiency (1 sun AMO) on silicon or germanium substrates. The option will optimize the baseline production processes and enable production of these solar cells. Respondents must show a demonstrated understanding and capability to build multi-bandgap III-V solar cells with greater than 22 percent efficiency (1 sun AMO). Research and Development Streamlined Contracting Procedures (RDSCP) apply to this acquisition in accordance with DFARS 235.70. A standard request for proposal (RFP) will not be issued. The complete solicitation, scheduled for release in April 1995, will appear in a subsequent edition of the Commerce Business Daily. As such, respondents to this notice must include complete address information to the point of contact (POC) listed above in order to receive any supplemental packages/amendments. Potential offerors who have already submitted a written request for a copy of the solicitation need not respond. All other aspects of the program remain the same. (0068)
