Young, Contract Specialist, 703/693-5011 NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD - On behalf of the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations and Plans, Training Directorate, Defense Supply Service-Washington (DSS-W) intends to negotiate a Sole Source Requirements contract with INFONET Services Corporation, 11700 Montgomery Road, Beltsville, MD 20705 to provide computer and communication services to support the operations of the Training Ammunition Management Information System (TAMIS). TAMIS is a centralized system for collecting and processing training ammunition authorization, expenditure, and related data from the Major Army Commands (MACOMs) and firing units. TAMIS currently operates on proprietary Infonet Services Corps Network and is accessed by 416 users throughout the contiguous United States, Hawaii, Japan, the Republic of South Korea, Panama Canal Zone, and Western Europe who input and extract data and obtain management reports through the network from the mainframe computer. Infonet currently provides proprietary mainframe and UNIVAC computer, to store systems databases and processing procedures and a world-wide communications network capable of processing 100 simultaneous users. The period of performance shall be approximately six (6) months. This synopsis should not be considered either an RFQ or an RFP. Firms having the ability to provide these services shall respond in writing within fifteen (15) days of publication of this notice with conplete detailed documentation showing their company's ability to meet these requirements. Contractors shall include pricing with your response. Verbal communication will not be considered nor will telefaxed responses. As a result of analyzing responses of this Synopsis of Intent, the Contracting Officer may determine that a solicitation will be issued. If a solicitation is issued, no additional synopsis will be published. See Numbered Note 22. (0068)
