K -- AN/FPS-117 RADAR RELIABILITY AND SUPPORTABILITY (RMS) UPGRADE SOL F19628-95-R-0018 DUE 032495 POC Mr. James McKenna, Contracting Officer, 617-377-7241. The Electronic Systems Center (ESC) of the Air Force Materiel Command intends to issue a competitive Request For Proposal (RFP) for the AN/FPS-117 Radar Reliability, Maintainability and Supportability (RMS) Upgrade effort. The upgrade, initially described in the Commerce Business Daily published on 27 July 1995, will consist of replacement of the Digital Data Processor (DDP) and Multi-Modular Processor (MMP), replacement of the Operations Control Group (OCG), improved reliability of the Process & Control (P&C) Group, elimination of manual adjustments within the P&C Group, and replacement of the Maintenance Control System (MCS) equipment. ESC reserves the right not to award a contract. The release of RFP F19628-95-R-0018 is projected to be as soon as 24 March 1995. Proposals will be due thirty (30) days from issuance of the RFP. Firms will be provided a copy of the solicitation, if requested. Any timely responses will be evaluated without prejudice. This synopsis does not constitute an IFB or RFP and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government.
