Y -- REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS: DESIGN-BUILD SERVICES FOR FOUR MODULAR DORMITORY BUILDINGS, RELATED SITE WORK AND UTILITY EXTENSIONS, WOODLAND JOB CORPS CENTER, 3300 FORT MEADE ROAD, LAUREL, MARYLAND The Woodland Job Corps Center desires a firm fixed-price contract for design and construction of four modular dormitory buildings, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, security and landscaping, to house a maximum of 320 students. Each building will consist of a common area and four dormitory wings. All the buildings will be single story with pitched roofs. The total combined gross building area is approximately 66,700 square feet. Performance time for construction is critical, approximately 26 weeks to completion. Only those firms that can accomplish this work within this time should apply. Competition will be unrestricted. The center intends to award a contract to the offeror whose proposal represents the best value to the center, cost and other factors considered. Relevant past performance and past experience will be considered in evaluating proposals. A full performance bond will be required. The anticipated release date of the Request for Proposal (RFP) will be 23 March 1995. The RFP will provide proposal requirements for those offerors who wish to be considered. Proposals are due 4 May 1995. A pre-proposal conference and site visit/walk-through will be held on 13 April 1995. All responsible offerors meeting this criteria set forth in the RFP may submit a proposal that will be considered by the Woodland Job Corps Center. Cost will be between $5 million and $10 million. The contract will be awarded to the responsible offeror who submits the proposal considered most advantageous to the center. Offers will be evaluated on: Factor 1, price and project schedule; Factor 2, technical; Factor 3, recent experience and past performance.
