Z -- REMOVAL OF HYDRAULIC HOISTS & CONTAMINATED SOIL AT THE HUNTINGTON BEACH, LA PUENTE AND POMONA, CALIFORNIA VEHICLE MAINTENANCE FACILITIES SOL 052571-95-A-0047 DUE 040695 POC Claude Le Feuvre, Project Manager, 310/806-4017. The U. S. Postal Service is soliciting proposals for removal of hydraulic hoists and contaminated soil at the following locations in California: Huntington Beach Main Office and Vehicle Maintenance Facility (4 hoists); La Puente Vehicle Maintenance Facility (5 hoists); and Pomona Main Office (2 hoists). Huntington Beach is an owned facility; La Puente and Pomona are leased facilities. For each facility, the work will include removal and disposal of hydraulic hoists and contents of hoists and sumps (hydraulic oils), demolition and disposal of surface (uncontaminated) concrete, demolition and disposal of underground (contaminated) concrete, excavation and disposal of contaminated soil, import and backfill of fill material, and construction of a concrete slab. A pre-proposal conference will be held on March 23, 1995 at 9:00 A.M. at the Santa Ana Main Post Office, 2201 North Grand Avenue, Santa Ana, California. A two-step solicitation method will be utilized. Contractors will submit two proposals - technical and price. Only those contractors who satisfactorily demonstrate the required qualifications will have their price evaluated. The technical evaluation will require the following: (1) Minimum of five years experience as a general contractor; (2) Experience on a minimum of three similar projects; (3) Favorable references - offerors will be required to provide the name and telephone number of references for the three named similar projects; (4) Financial stability. Estimated construction cost is $250,000-$500,000. Construction must be completed within 120 days. Prior to contract award, the contractor must provide performance and payment bonds and evidence of current State of California general contractors license with certificate for hazardous waste removal. The minority subcontracting goal for this contract is 10%. Offers will not be publicly opened. The number of offers received, amount of any offer, identity of offerors or relative standing of offerors will not be disclosed until after contract award. Telephone requests for solicitation packages will not be accepted. There is a non-refundable charge of $25.00 for the plans and specifications.
