70 -- DATA BASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM CONTROL SOFTWARE POC Wayne McDonald tel: (410) 966-1323 The Social Security Administration has a need for tools and utilities capable of remote data base and system administration, management and performance monitoring. This software system must integrate with or serve as the framework for proactive monitoring and management of distributed database server technology. SSA has a pilot environment which utilizes the ORACLE relational Data Base Management System (DRMS) running on a UNIX-based server. Products must provide for the management and control of a variety of DBMS's, including but not limited to ORACLE, and a variety of UNIX operating system platforms. System will be controlled from a central site monitoring facility. Products must be capable of determining and correcting problems, initiating alerts, providing performance data and historical data base/server statistics. SSA is seeking those sources which have a product that will satisfy the Government's needs. Organizations which have such a product are invited to submit technical literature, specifications (hardware and software) and brochures. The information respondents provide shall pertain to the synopsis only: cross-referencing to material previously submitted is not recommended. No cost or pricing data is required or requested. This is not a request for proposal and the Government does not intend to pay for the information solicited or received. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation of the source data received, but sources deemed qualified will be solicited when requests for proposals are issued.
