The Air Force proposes to extend or purchase the existing sole-source contract with Jeppesen DataPlan, Inc. (JDI), of 121 Albright Way, Los Gatos, CA 95030-9979, through 1 April 96. The technical and support services under this contract include contractor-owned OMCFP software, which must provide but not be limited to the following capabilities: produce single, double, and triple air refueling and non-air refueling Optimized Computer Flight Plans (CFP) based upon fuel, time and/or cargo optimization, be written in a Digital VAX compatible language (VAX FORTRAN 77) and run on the Air Force's Digital VAX 8350 minicomputers, include a worldwide flight information data base using DoD Flight Information Publications, be capable of constructing routes which are free of major violations to current International Civil Aeronautical Organization, FAA, and DoD Regulations, transmit CFPs from Air Force Global Weather Central (AFGWC) Offutt AFB, Nebraska, to the aircraft's point of departure via AUTODIN, Defense Data Network (DDN), and Packet Switched Data Network (PSDN) communication circuits, automatically take advantage of favorable atmospheric conditions in selecting the optimum route of flight and optimize the aircraft's altitude (within Air Traffic Control's restrictions and Air Force aircraft technical order manual limitations) along the route, use the Global Weather Applications data base produced by AFGWC, assemble optimum track structures from airways, and produce CFPs in the standard AMC and ACC formats.
