Q -- MANAGED SUBSTANCE ABUSE CARE The Iowa Department of Human Services announces the availability of funding and the release of a Request for Proposals (RFP) to contract for Managed Substance Abuse Treatment services. The Iowa Department of Public Health and the Iowa Department of Human Services propose to jointly procure to contract for Managed Care services for substance abuse treatment funded by the Department of Human Services and the Department of Public Health. The project will provide for state-wide Managed Substance Abuse Care beginning July 1, 1995, and extending through June 30, 1997, with a possible one year extension to June 30, 1998. Eligible applicants may include an incorporated agency or government organization that meets funding standards for the Iowa Department of Public Health's Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant and meets criteria established by the Department of Human Services and the Health Care Financing Administration for Medicaid services. Interested parties wishing to apply for these funds may request application instructions by sending their request along with their name, complete mailing address, and phone number to address above or faxing their request to the same address at FAX 515-281-4597, and attention to Jane Gaskill. A bidders' conference is scheduled for March 27th, 1995. Information regarding time and location will be included with the application materials. Letters of Intent to submit a proposal are due March 29, 1995, and must be mailed or delivered to the address listed above and to the attention of Jane Gaskill and must include: 1) statement of intent to submit proposal to contract to provide state-wide Managed Substance Abuse Care, 2) name, complete address, phone number, and contract person of the interested party, 3) signature of the interested entity's administrator or board. Applications are due May 1, 1995, at 3:30 in the office of the Division of Medical Services, Iowa Department of Human Service and according to the time and terms specified in the application instructions.
