intent that the National Institutes of Health intends to negotiate a
sole source contract under the authority of 41USC 253 (CX1) with
Resonance Technology Company for stereoscopic 3D high resolution MRI
patient Audio/Video Goggle The contractor shall furnish as follows: 1.
Visual and audio unit shall fit within a GEMS Signa 1.5 tesla MR unit
head coil and insert gradient coil system. 2. Visual goggle system
shall include a set of goggles consisting of a combination prism/lens
system resulting in 180,000 active pixels equivalent to 400 lines of
resolution. 3. Goggles shall have a 30 degree field of view with focus
adjustment at + or - 6 diopters with automatic astigmatism correction
for up to + or - 2 diopters. 4. The goggles shall be adjustable to
accommodate different interpupillary differences. 5. The unit shall
include a voice activated patient microphone and patient alert system.
6. The unit shall have a high efficiency audio transducer and noise
cancellation headset at a 30db attenuation level. 7. The unit shall
include a nonmagnetic 30 watt stereo transducer with computer
controlled auto boost detector. 8. The unit shall include a video tape
recorder capable of being interfaced with the 30-watt stereo
transducer and a computer used to display tasks. All responses must be
in written and received within 45 calendar days from the published
date of this notice. Oral communications is not acceptable and will not
be honored. Concerns that respond to this notice will be considered
only if furnishing clear and convincing documentation demonstrating
their ability to meet, at a minimum, all stated performance and
capability requirements. Written responses should contain sufficient
technical information and description of the proposed management plan
for meeting the performance and capability requirements in order to
permit the agency analysis to establish a bonafide capability to meet
the stated requirements and should be directed to Clark J. Hartman at
