36362-5029 66 -- UPGRADE EXISTING SCHENCK PEGASUS MODEL 5900 CONTROLLER, AND
FURNISH AND INSTALL THE ONLINE TRANSFER FUNCTION (OTF) SOL
DABT01-95-R-0011 DUE 060895 POC Susan Montgomery, Contract Specialist,
(334)255-3894 Notice is given of the intent to negotiate a sole source
acquisition with Schenck Pegasus Corporation, 2890 John R. Road, Troy,
MI 48083, to upgrade existing Schenck Pegasus Model 5900 3-channel
dual mode servo-controller to include the latest hardware and software
revisions, in order to allow the addition of the Online Transfer
Function (OTF-tm) for all channels. The OTF, the control
algorithm/software, and the 5900 are proprietary products of Schenck
Pegasus. The upgraded servo-controller must be totally compatible with
the existing three-axis electro-hydraulic test rig, including the pump
controls and safety-related features. The OTF-tm compensation
capability must, in real-time, continually monitor the feedback
acceleration signal of all three channels and calculate the appropriate
drive signals to make the feedback acceleration signatures match the
desired acceleration time signatures. This process is done inside the
servo-controller in real-time, and not by an iterative off-line method
or in another device. The servo-controller functions must be
controlled from built-in display on the front panel, and remotely from
the supplied personal computer (PC) linked to the servo-controller by
a high-speed optical data link. The servo-controller and remote PC
must have a user friendly menu-driven method for test set-up and
operation. PC must be a Pentium based processor with a motherboard that
has three Intel Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) bus slots.
Software for the PC must communicate with the servo-controller and
operate it in all pertinent modes of OTF; operates in the Microsoft
WINDOWS 3.11 environment; must allow use of hard copy devices including
laser printers and Hewlett-Packard Graphics Language (HPGL) compatible
plotters. OL-PC PC optic link board and OL-5900 optic link board must
allow for bi-directional data transfer at 125 Megabits/second or
greater. Quantity of 1 each. Anticipated issue date on/about 8 May 95
with request for proposal due on/about 8 Jun 95. F.O.B. Fort Rucker,
AL. Delivery within 60 calendar days after receipt of Notice of Award.
