DUE 050194 POC Mr. Arthur O'Dea, Contracting Officer, Phone: (508)651-4289 or, FAX: (508)651-5286 The purpose of this notice is to amend the announcements which appeared in the CBD on 17 Jan 95 entitled as follows: 83 - Chemical Biological Protective Shelter System (CBPSS) SOL DAAK60-95-#-0001 This number is for internal tracking purposes only, and, 54 - Chemical Biological Protective Shelter System (CBPSS) SOL DAAK60-95-#-0002 This number is for internal tracking purposes only. Note: The actual RFP number will appear on the solicitation when it issues. The following changes are made to the previous announcements: The total quantity of CBPSSs that could possibly be ordered under the contract has been changed from 152 to 308. However, industry needs to understand that certain regulatory requirements need to be met before this could occur, but the resultant contract will have provisions for 308 systems. The solicitation will now include the following efforts/deliverables: 1. A Preproduction and Production Evaluation effort whereby Prepriced Compatibility Engineering Change Proposals are used to incorporate design enhancements into the technical data and then used to incorporate these changes into the deliverables. 2. The refurbishment of one GFP prototype CBPSS for use in logistic demonstration. 3. The fabrication of 7 First Article Test Systems with contractor testing. 4. If successful, 12 CBPSSs will be acquired. 5. Technical Data. 6. Options include: 289 CBPSSs over various ordering periods, and an option for the contractor to evaluate the specifications and drawings for replacement of Government Specifications and Standards with non-Government specifications and or standards. 7. Also included as Options are the Color of the systems - either camouflage Green or Desert Tan, and, whether the HMMWVs will be Contractor Acquired or Government Furnished. 8. There is also a requirement that during the contract the contractor establish an Interim Support Items List (ISIL) and propose a price for the fabrication and delivery of spare to establish an Option for the support of fielded CBPSSs. All other information in the previous publications remains unchanged. A solicitation is expected to issue in the March 1995 time frame. Potential offerors will be given only 45 days to respond.
