Rockenstire at 206-526-6021 The charter vessel will support one cruise
that will commence O/A June 1, 1995 for 19 days. Cruise will begin and
end in Honolulu, HI. The vessel shall have the capability to conduct
lobster fishing operations in the Northwest Hawaiian Islands. The
vessel will set lobster traps each day at predetermined sites. The
vessel's crew will be responsible for setting, hauling, stacking, and
re-baiting lobster traps under the supervision of the chief scientist.
At a minimum, the charter vessel must have enough deck space on the
working deck to store 160 fully made traps and 40 stacked traps, (20)
30-gal barrels of polypropylene line, and (24) 18-inch inflatable
floats and (24) 8 inch hard floats; have 100 cu. ft. of freezer space
to store bait; and have a 2 ft. by 4 ft. table for processing the
catch. In addition, the vessel must have a minimum cruising speed of 10
knots (19 km/hr), accommodations for scientific crew of 3 persons, a
line hauler for 0.5 inch polypropylene line, a reliable depth finder to
100 meters, and a GPS navigation system. Procurement to be 100% set
