Brusuelas, Contracting Officer, at (505) 678-4323. It is the intent of the U.S. Army White Sands Missile Range to negotiate sole source with Radian Corporation, P.O. Box 201088, Austin, Texas for a Mobile LAP-3000 5-Beam Radar Profiler with RASS that must be integrated into a mobile platform (trailer) for straightforward transport, deployment, and operation at a variety of field locations at White Sands Missile Range (WSMR), New Mexico. The system shall include the capability to measure vertical profiles of horizontal wind speed and direction, and vertical wind velocity. In addition, the system shall include the capability to measure vertical profiles of virtual air temperature. The system must operate unattended and provide continuous real-time atmospheric wind and temperature data with high spatial resolution. The system must be capable of measuring winds from 100m up to 5km above ground level with a minimum 60m vertical resolution under ideal conditions. Wind speed accuracy must be less than 1 meter per second. Wind direction accuracy must be less than 10 degrees. It must also be able to measure temperature from 100m up to 2km above ground level with a minimum 60m vertical resolution under ideal conditions. Air temperature accuracy must be less than 1 degree c. The system must operate at 915 MHz. The equipment must be compatible with existing computer codes, including the data acquisition program Profiler On-Line Program. The equipment must be capable of acquiring wind speed and wind direction measurements without significant data loss due to noise encountered weapons systems during daily Test and Evaluation missions support at WSMR. Interested sources should furnish information as to their capabilities in fulfilling the above requirement, to include clear and convincing documentation of their ability to perform under this requirement and that they have access to necessary data and information.
