A -- MODIFICATION: DEVELOPMENT & DEMONSTRATION OF TESTBED ADAPTIVE ULTRA WIDEBAND RADAR RECEIVER/SIGNAL PROCESSOR. SOL N00014-93-C-0004 POC Contract Specialist, Loretta Bourne, (619)553-5726. Contracting Officer, Ulysses Miller, Jr. This action will modify and extend contract N00014-93-C-0004 awarded to Frontier Engineering, Inc., on 24 November 1992, in response to a Broad Area Announcement to provide technology to substantially enhance the Navy's ability to detect, track, and identify airborne targets, and to increase surviviability in the presence of hostile anti-radiation missiles. The contractor's proposal was incorporated as the statement of work. The proposal detailed the tasking to investigate the systems application and requirements definition for an ultra-wideband (UWB) radar to meet these system objectives. The tasking included trade-off studies of candidate components and systems. Also included were analysis and simulation of the system characteristics of the UWB radar design concept. The results of this development to date include the analysis, simulation, and design of systems, sub-systems, assemblies, sub-assemblies, and components. Sub-assemblies and assemblies have been fabricated and tested. This CBD announcement describes efforts which are an off-shoot and continuation of the previous accomplishments. The follow-on tasking will utilize the breadboard components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies designed, developed, fabricated, and tested during the basic period of performance. These will be integrated into a demonstration breadboard radar system and tested as a system to confirm proof of concept. Interested parties are invited to respond to this synopsis. All responsible parties responses will be considered. See Numbered Note(s): 22. (0073)
