Title and number of pages of the notified document: Explanatory Notes - Proposal P125 - Hydrogenated Glucose Syrup (3 pages). 6. Description of content: A proposal to amend the Australian Food Standards Code to update and rename as maltitol syrup the specification for Hydrogenated Glucose Syrup (HGS), and make consequential amendments to a number of commodity standards to rename HGS as maltitol syrup. 7. Objective and rationale: Promotion of trade and commerce. 8. Relevant documents: Australian Food Standards Code. 9. Proposed date of adoption and entry into force: Recommendation to Government by 12 August 1995, and entry into force to be decided. 10. Final date for comments: The domestic closing date for comments is 5 April 1995, however comments from Parties will be accepted until 21 April 1995 if notice of intention to comment is received by the domestic closing date.
