LEWIS, WA SOL DACA67-95-R-0033 DUE 042895 POC Contact, John Norway, (206) 764-6659 The Government intends to negotiate on a sole source basis for the award of a contract for the demolition work required for Design and Build of Golf Clubhouse, Fort Lewis, WA. The sole source negotiations will occur with the firm competitively selected for the award of the Design and Build Golf Clubhouse project, advertised in the CBD synopsis dated February 10, 1995 as Solicitation No. NAFFM3-95-R-0029. Demolition will occur in a phased sequence. Non-competitive award of this demolition contract is authorized pursuant to the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1). The firm selected will be required to complete the following principal tasks: 1. Demolition of two (2) separate existing, wood frame buildings (Clubhouse and Pro Shop), which together total approximately 13,000 square feet. Asbestos is present in these buildings, and will require removal and appropriate disposal. 2. Temporary and subsequent final utility (e.g., potable and non-potable water supply, and heating, sewer, electricity, and communication systems), demolition work involving various degrees of removal, relocation, capping, and abandonment-in-place activities. 3. Based upon current Government technical criteria, demolition of the existing heating and septic system work also includes removal and disposal of above and below-ground fuel oil tanks and associated distribution piping; and removal of all or portions of the existing septic system (i.e. septic tanks, pump basin, dousing tank, drain field, and associated delivery piping). Contractors design of the new septic system will confirm the extent of demolition of the existing septic system. The contractor will follow Standard soil testing and remediation procedures, as defined in the Request for Proposal. 4. Additional site preparation work demolition involves selected tree and asphaltic concrete pavement removal. See Note 22. (0073)
