826-1841 ext. 179. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division has
a requirement for various quantities of equipment and spares in support
of AN/TPX-42A(V) systems. There are a total of seventy-five line items,
including a complete system and a full assortment of associated
components. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis
with Telephonics Corporation, 815 Broad Hollow Road, Farmingdale, NY.
The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition
is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1); only one responsible source and no other
supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Telephonics is
the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the AN/TPX-42A 5, 8,
10, 12, and 13 Interrogators and ancillary equipment; Telephonics
retains all proprietary data rights for the AN/TPX-42A. Additionally,
Telephonics is the only company capable of providing the equipment and
spares with the requisite compatibility and interchangeability
necessary for integration into existing AN/TPX-42A(V)s. It is
anticipated that a Requirements type contract, with provisions for firm
fixed price delivery orders, shall be awarded to Telephonics; the term
of the contract shall be five years. The required delivery schedules
vary with the items ordered, ranging from 3 to 18 months. All equipment
and spares shall be delivered to the Receiving Officer, Naval Air
Warfare Center Aircraft Division, St. Inigoes, MD. All responsible
offers may submit a bid, proposal or quotation which shall be
