COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MARCH 17,1995 PSA#1305NASA, John F. Kennedy Space Center, Kennedy Space Center, FL 32899 58 -- CARRIER DEMODULATOR SOL RFQ JM95-CD01 POC Jeff Marshall, Mail
Code: LSO-360, Kennedy Space Center, FL 32899. Lockheed Space
Operations Company (LSOC), a NASA prime contra3(H34Kennedy Space Center
(KSC), FL, seeks sources capable of providing a UQPSK Carrier
Demodulator which shall provide the means for coherently demodulating
a double sideband suppressed carrier to recover two channels of data
which have been quadraphrase modulated with unequal power onto a
15.0034 Ghz carrier which has been downconverted to an IF frequency of
369.9 Mhz at the input of the Carrier Demodulator. The power split
between the I and Q channels is nominally 80% to 20% (6db)
respectively. The I channel data will be NRZ-L data at a rate of 2 to
100 Mbps. The Q channel data will be a 8.5 Mhz subcarrier which is in
turn UQPSK modulated with two channels of data. Although the nominal
power split for the I and Q channels is 80% to 20% (6db) respectively,
it is required that the Carrier Demodulator be capable of demodulating
signals with power splits ranging from 4db to 8db. The Carrier
Demodulator will be capable of automatically determining the power
split between the I and Q channels to provide an indication of the
power split. The Carrier Demodulator will be capable of automatically
determining the I and Q channels and route the proper channel to the
appropriate output termination. The Carrier Demodulator will have the
capability of being operated locally from the front panel or remotely
from an IEEE 488.2 bus. It will be no greater than 7 inches in height
and rack-mountable in a standard 19-inch rack. It will operate using
105 to 125 Vac, 47 to 63 Hz singe phase power. It must be capable of
being serviced for an operational life of 15 years. Operation,
maintenance and calibration manuals, as well as schematic drawings,
will also be required. Interested firms should submit data on their
products to reach LSOC no later than 040595. Include any existing price
list or a ROM of costs. This synopsis does not commit LSOC to purchase
any items or to issue a formal solicitation, which is subject to
availability of funding. Address Lockheed Space Operations Company,
