Correnti,2 15/656-6152 This project consists of the construction of a
425,000 GSF building in Charleston, West Virginia consisting of 8
stories above ground with two levels of underground parking. This
requirement was originally advertised under solicitation
GS-03P-93-DXC-0056 which was cancelled on September 10, 1993 due to
bids exceeding budget. The building will house the U. S. Courts and
members of the court family. At completion, the building will contain
8 courtrooms on the fifth, sixth and seventh floors, with four floors
(ground through four) of general office space to house court support
agencies (Probation, Public Defender, U. S. Marshalls, etc.). The
building's mechanical and electrical space will be housed in the eighth
floor and the eighth floor mezzanine. The project will include work in
the following areas: Concrete, structural steel, metal decking,
fireproofing, insulation, precast concrete, paneling, wood paneling and
millwork, drywall, plaster, lathe, doors, windows, elevators, HVAC,
Plumbing, fire protection, electrical power and distribution, lighting
security systems, audio visual systems, built-in furniture and
fixtures, painting and finishing, carpeting, soundproofing, paving,
sitework and other associated work. The building occupies a footprint
of approximately 200 feet by 200 feet. At the time of this notice, the
majority of the site excavation is complete and a large portion of the
foundations installed. To date, the building's auger cast piling has
been installed and the majority of the structural slab for the lowest
level of parking has been poured. This procurement is being issued as
a negotiated procurement and is being conducted under full and open
competition through the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration
Program. The SIC Code is 1542. The Government reserves the right to
make an award based on initial offers. The project control number is
NWV10005. The estimated cost range is between 55 million and 65
million. All offerors must demonstrate in their proposal experience
with projects of similar size and scope. The lack of this experience
might render a firm nonresponsible. Solicitation packages will be
available on or about April 10, 1995 and may be obtained by sending a
written request to Ms. Terrie Cooper at the above address. There is a
non-refundable charge of $250.00 for each set of documents. There will
be no charge to firms who purchased bid documents under the original
solicitation. Certified check, cashier's check or money order made out
to the General Service Administration should accompany each request.
