COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MARCH 20.1995 PSA#1306AFFTC/PKAB Directorate of Contracting, 5 S. Wolfe Ave., Edwards AFB, CA
93524-1185 (Attn: Judy Gayler) 58 -- FULL S-BAND TELEMETRY TRANSMITTER SOL F04611-95-R-0053 DUE
050195 POC Judy Gayler, Contract Negotiator, (805) 277-3900 Ext 2245:
John A. Adair, Contracting Officer, (805) 277-3900 Ext 2230. The
Government currently has a requirement for a full S-band FM telemetry
transmitter and thumbwheel frequency selection switch. These units must
be small, rugged and flight qualified in a fighter environment. The
transmitter must be a single unit and operate in the 2200.5 to 2399.5
MHz frequency range (S-band and extended S-band). The transmitter must
be tunable in 1 MHz increments over the entire frequency range. The
output center frequency must be externally selectable using a code plug
or via remote control using the thumbwheel frequency selection switch
described below. Input to the transmitter will be NRZ-L PCM, with
premodulation filtering external to the transmitter, have a (-3dB)
bandwidth equal to 0.7 times the PCM bit rate. The transmitter must be
capable of accepting a minimum bit rate of 32 kilobits per second
(kbps) up to a maximum bit rate of 15 megabits per second (Mbps).
Nominal peak deviation will be 0.35 times the bit rate. The deviation
sensitivity must be field adjustable. The required transmitter Radio
Frequency (RF) power output is a minimum of 10 watts. Input voltage
will be 28 (+/-4) VDC with characteristics similar to those found in
width. The height must not be greater than 2.00 inches. The transmitter
must meet all IRIG 106-93 standards. The thumbwheel frequency selection
switch must display all five digits of the selected frequency. The 2
GHz and 0.5 MHz digits must be fixed and must not be user adjustable.
The hundredth MHz digit must allow selection of either a two or a three
only. The frequency selection switch must be 2.00 inches in length by
3.00 inches in width by 1.50 inches in height. The transmitter must
operate with cable lengths between the transmitter and thumbwheel
frequency selection switch from two inches to not less than 50 feet. A
requirement exists for 100 to 150 units over a five year period.
Delivery date requirements are anticipated to start in the beginning of
calendar year 1996. The planned solicitation release date is 5 April
1995. Requests to be added to the bidders mailing list may be mailed to
the above address or faxed to Judy Gayler at (805)258-9641. Telephone
requests to be placed on the mailing list will not be honored. (0075) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0322 19950317\58-0001.SOL)
