STEINAMNN, CONTRACTING OFFICER, 618-256-1900 EXT 261. (COLLECT CALLS
WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED). The Air Force Command, Control, Communications,
and Computer Agency (AFC4A) is developing MIL-STD-2045-13500, Part 1,
which specifies subnetwork independent requirements for IP routers.
The Government is seeking information to determine if this profile is
consistent with commercial IP router implementations and if not, what
requirements in this profile are not compatible with commercial IP
routers. DOD has developed this profile to help ensure interoperability
between commercially available IP routers purchased from different
vendors. This profile accomplishes this by identifying the protocols,
related RFCs and additional requirements applicable to IP routers used
in the DoD networking environment. This information will be used to
determine the viability of obtaining commercial IP routers compatible
with this profile. Where appropriate, the requirements in this profile
will be changed to be more consistent with commercial IP routers.
Copies of the profile can be obtained from: HQAFC4A/TNAB, 609 Pierce
Street, Room 301 A, Scott AFB IL 62225-5421. Information is requested
by 20 Apr 95. This Request for Information is not a commercial
solicitation and the Government will pay neither for any information
submitted nor for any costs associated with providing this information.
