of Zimbabwe has received a loan from the international Bank for
reconstruction and Development (IBRD) in various currencies towards the
cost of the second urban sector and regional Development Project, and
intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to eligible payments
under the contract for which this invitation for bids is issued payment
by the IBRD will be made only at the request of the borrower and upon
approval by the IBRD in accordance with the loan agreement, and will be
subject in all respects to the terms and conditions of that agreement
no party other than the borrower shall derive any rights from the loan
agreement or have rights to the loan proceeds, except as the IBRD May
specifically otherwise agree the Municipality of kwekwe (the employer)
now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply,
installation, pre-commissioning, testing and handing over of mechanical
and electrical equipment for upgrading unit 2 of the kwekwe northern
sewage works interested eligible bidders May obtain further information
from and purchase bid documents on submission of a written application
and upon payment of a non refundable fee of Z$500 00 (five hundred
Zimbabwe dollars) approximately US$60 00 (sixty United States dollars)
from Municipality's Project Managers Stewart Scott Zimbabwe Pax House

Wednesday, April 19, 1995 sealed bids must be endorsed on the outside
with the to town clerks's tender box Municipality of kwekwe civic
center kwekwe, Zimbabwe all bids must be accompanied by a bid security
in an amount of Z$75,000 (seventy five thousand Zimbabwe dollars)
approximately US$9,000 (nine thousand United States dollars) or the
equivalent in a freely convertible currency in one of the following
forms (a) a Bank guarantee or irrevocable letter of credit issued
directly by a Bank located in employer's country or abroad acceptable
to the employer, in the form provided in the bidding documents (B) a
cashier's cheque, certified cheque or cash. In the comparison of
evaluated bids, the employer will grant a margin of preference to plant
and equipment manufactured in the employer's country in accordance with
the procedures outlined in the bidding documents a single stage bidding
procedure will be adopted and the provisions of Section iia
instructions to bidders for a single stage bidding will apply to this
invitation bids will be opened publicly at the time and date and at the
address named in the bid sheet preceding the instructions to bidders
for their bids to be considered, bidders must demonstrate the following
Basic minimum qualification criteria (a) an annual turnover of at least
US$750,000 (seven hundred and fifty thousand United States dollars) or
equivalent in a freely convertible currency. (B) liquid assets or an
agreed line of credit of at least US$75,000 (seventy-five thousand
United States dollars) or equivalent in a freely convertible currency.
(C) experience as a prime contractor on at least 2 (two) projects of
equivalent size and complexity to this contract over the last 10 (ten)
years. (These must be at least 70% (seventy percent) complete at bid
date). (D) a contract manager with at least 5 (five) years experience
in similar works. (E) access to the necessary contractor's equipment.
