Batlin; (303) 497-6320 Concerns having the capability to furnish the following services should give written notice within 45 calendar days from the date of this synopsis. The proposed contract is for acquisition of a refurbished, reconditioned as new Coherent Innova 305, 306 or 307 Argon Ion laser with preference for the Innova 307 series. The laser must be certified as new and must have an eighteen month warranty as the standard commercial warranty from the manufacturer, Coherent Laser Group. The Argon Ion laser must be compatible with an existing external-cavity frequency-doubling apparatus. The laser shall have the following salient characteristics: Greater than 1.1 W single frequency power at 488 nm (Tem00 operation), frequency jitter less than 10 MHz peak-to-peak over the bandwidth of DC to 200 kHz, less than 150 MHz/degree centigrade drift, optical power noise less than or equal to 0.2% rms, power stability of plus or minus 0.5% or better over 30 min, beam diameter at output coupler mirror equal to 1.5 mm, beam waist diameter equal to 1.4 mm, beam waist location 1.5 m from the output coupler mirror, beam divergence equal to 0.5 mrad, beam pointing stability better than 5 urad (angle) and 5 micrometer (offset at output coupler mirror) per degree centigrade. The laser must be capable of tuning to the 457.9 nm, 488.0 nm, and 514.5 nm lines (with single frequency operation at these lines) without replacing any of the laser's optics. The size of the laser head must not exceed 135 cm long x 25 cm wide x 25 cm high, the power supply size must not exceed 70 cm L x 55 cm W x 40 cm H, and it must be operated by a small remote control (less than 16 cm x 20 cm x 5 cm H). Input power requirements must not exceed 208Vac (plus or minus 10%), 3-phase with ground, 60 amps; cooling water minimum flow rate not to exceed 8.5 liters/min, minimum water pressure requirement of 1.8 kg/cm squared or less, with a temperature range of 10-35 degrees centigrade. Coherent Laser Group, Littleton, CO is considered the only known qualified source to supply the required supplies. In the absence of other qualified sources, it is the intent of the Government to award a sole source contract under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) to Coherent Laser Group as this source is considered to be the only responsible source and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This is not a formal solicitation. Interested firms and/or individuals may request to receive a copy of the solicitation when/if it becomes available.
