Point, Gregory B. Fraikor, Technology Transfer Administrator,
303/966-2270 EG&G Rocky Flats, a contractor to the U.S. Department of
Energy, is seeking commercial parties to further develop, test, and
commercialize a chemical ceramic coating technology. Originally
developed and used to contain molten metals, the process can make
products for a wide variety of applications that include; wear
resistant ceramics such as texile thread guides, corrosion resistant
materials for chemical processing hardware, thermally stable materials
for automotive engine components, abrasive materials for cutting tools
and machine hones, and durable products for building materials and
medical implants. The technology shows excellent potential for use as
a waste packaging process for hazardous and radioactive substances.
This is a federal technology transfer project and may be conducted
under a form of cooperative agreement or other arrangement. An
information profile is available. (0075) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0019 19950317\A-0019.SOL)
