L -- STANDARDIZATION PARTS CONTROL PROGRAM POC Marie Rice, Contracting Officer, (908) 544-3700 or Theresa Petersen, Contract Specialist, (908)544-3684 This is a Sources Sought Synopsis for the acquisition of a twelve (12) month effort plus three (3) twelve (12) month options which require the offeror to furnish services required to perform the assigned functions in the Department of Defense (DoD) Standardization Program and the Parts Control Program. The services shall pertain to all aspects of DoD Acquisition Reform policy, the Standardization Program as delineated in the Defense Standardization Manual (DMS) 4120.3-M and the Parts Control Program as required by MIL-STD-965. The items to be covered under the contract, for both the Standardization Program and the Parts Control Program, shall be component parts, materials, and processes for those Federal Supply Classifications (FSC) and Area Code Assignments for which ARL (EPSD) has been designated as the responsible activity by the Department of Defense. The offeror shall have a viable methodology to be used in preparing specifications/standards, where required in the selection of suitable component parts and materials. The tasking under the Parts Control Program is to make technical evaluations of components parts, materials and processes called ''nonstandard'' parts for the same FSCs specified in the Standardization Program. Another task is to review and reply to Requests for Engineering Support (DLS 339) forms from the Defense Electronics Supply Center (DESC). Interested concerns must submit three copies of the information specified in Note 25 on or before 5 April 1995. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation for bids or proposals and is not to be construed as any effort expended in responding to this synopsis.
