Guard Supply Center has a new project which will consist of demolition,
earth moving, road construction, storm water piping, transfer station
compactor and concrete work at the U.S. Coat Guard YARD in Baltimore,
Maryland. The work shall be accomplished in accordance with the
specification and drawing. The contractor shall begin work within 15
calendar days after notice to proceed and complete all work, including
clean up within 150 calendar days. All responsible sources may submit
a bid, which shall be considered by the agency. ''This Notice is for
informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged
Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of
Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to
assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to
acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for
transportation - related contract. This is applicable to any eligible
prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program
enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to
$1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on
the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available
under the DOT Short Term Lending Program enables firms to apply for
bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract.
