Establish Communications Duct Bank and fiber optic cable installation to include 16,000 feet fiber optic cable, 5,200 linear feet of 4 conduits and 2,200 feet of 6 conduits. Consisting of survey routes, locating existing utilities, horizontal bores, excavation placement of manholes, conduit & concrete, reloacting existing cables and installing fiber optic cable (single & multi mode). This work will be on an active airport, within air operations area (AOA). A pre-bid conference will be established at time of issuing solicitatiois. Estimated price range is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The proposed procurement is unrestricted regarding business size. The BOD is an approxiate date only. The Standard Industriatl Classification Code for this procurement is 1542. For Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a suerty against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
