The U.S. Department of Energy Nevada Operations Office anticipates issuing an Invitation for Bids (IFB) #DE-IB08-95NV11609 on or about April 19, 1995, for bids from firms who have interest and experience in the construction of new office buildings. The project is located at the DOE North Las Vegas Facility on Losee Road near Cheyenne Road in the city of North Las Vegas. The project consist of an approximately 164,000 SF multi-story office building, associated site improvements, a parking deck, as well as acquisition and installation of systems furniture. Special features of the building include security systems, a fiber optic communications system, vault-type rooms and special acoustical controls. Site improvement work will include utilities, grading, paving and surfacing, area lighting, landscaping, and fences. Offerors responding to the solicitation shall meet the following minimum qualifications: 1) Must have bonding capacity for the total price of the project; and 2) Must perform at least twenty percent (20%) of the work with its own organization. The estimated magnitude of this project is more than $10,000,000. Tentative date set for IFB issuance is April 19, 1995, with a tentative date for receipt of bids of May 31, 1995. Only written requests for plans, specifications and bid documents will be honored. Requests for bidders mailing lists must also be submitted in writing. Interested parties desiring a copy of the IFB should make a written request prior to April 14, 1995.
