The National Cancer Institute, Division of Cancer Prevention and Control, is re-competing the entire pool of Master Agreement Holders for the Early Detection Research Network (EDRN). All current Master Agreement Holders must submit a new proposal to requalify and all new sources are encouraged to apply. The Master Agreement Announcement (MAA) is issued to solicit offerors that (1) have knowledge to undertake biomarker research in early cancer detection, (2) advance the understanding of the molecular basis of tumorigenesis in relation to screening and early detection, and risk assessment, (3) identify potential biomarkers that can be used as outcome measures or as intermediate endpoints for cancer screening studies, and (4) respond to late breaking developments in the field of biomarkers in a timely fashion. The projects will focus in the following areas of biologic, molecular, and genetic studies relevant to early detection of prostate, colorectal, lung including head and neck, bladder and breast cancers.
