R -- TECHNICAL AND ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR THE MANNED FLIGHT SIMULATOR AIR COMBAT ENVIRONMENT TEST AND EVALUATION FACILITY SOL N00421-92-D-0028 DUE 033095 POC Jamiel Charlton, Contract Specialist (301) 826-1828 ext. 107 and Brenda Pickett, Contracting Officer. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Patuxent River, MD plans to acquire on a cost plus fixed fee, level of effort basis technical and engineering services in support of the Simulation and Stimulation competency (5.1.6.1), Flight Vehicle Simulation competency (4.3.2.2) and the Flight Controls competency (4.3.2.4) at NAWCAD. This action is a modification to contract N00421-92-D-0028 that increases the potential contract hours, labor, related travel and related material. It provides for timely continuation of Simulation competencies-related operation and maintenance, technical and engineering support, and provides specialized Manned Flight Simulator (MFS). Support efforts include: design, development and fabrication of simulation cockpits electrical interfaces for hardware, maintenance, operation, and updating of computers, projection systems, and workstations in the laboratory. This contract modification will be negotiated on a sole source basis with J.F. Taylor, Inc., Lexington Park, MD, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 (only one responsible source and no other services will satisfy agency requirements) as it is necessary to continue operations due to growth until a competitive acquisition is implemented.
