COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MARCH 21,1995 PSA#1307SMART WEAPONS TRAINING SEMINAR AND GENESIS 2.0 SEMINAR The Guidance and
Control Information Analysis Center (GACIAC), which is sponsored by the
Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC), and operated by IIT
Research Institute (IITRI) since 1977, is conducting a three-day Smart
Weapons Training Seminar to be held in Huntsville, AL on 2-4 May 1995.
Smart Weapons are the force multipliers for the future. Such weapons
are being developed by both the U.S. and foreign countries. Through
this seminar, GACIAC is attempting to provide a single source of
information on specific U.S. and foreign smart weapons to include their
deployment, system description, and performance characteristics. The
seminar will include description of current U.S. systems, U.S. systems
under development, and other U.S. smart weapong concepts. Direct fire,
aircraft launched, and indirect fire systems will be discussed.
Representative examples of systems being discussed include Dragon,
Javelin, TOW, STAFF, Hellfire, Longbow, ATACMS/BAT, Copperhead, SADARM,
EFOG-M, TGW, IR MAVERICK, AMRAAM, SFW, Tomahawk and HARM. It will also
briefly cover key systems in development to include: LOCAAS, Damocles,
JDAM, JSOW, TACAWS and LONGFOG. Limited availale information will also
be provided on foreign smart weapons systems such as MERLIN, BONUS,
ACES, STRIX and others. The seminar is for project managers, material
developers, systems analysts, and engineers interested in gaining an
understanding of critical smart weapons related systems, subsystems,
and technologies. The semninar will be at the SECRET level. Attendees
will require SECRET security clearance (U.S. citizens only). Similar
seminars conducted last year were quickly filled. To ensure a place in
this seminar, please forward your registration and fee as soon as
possible. For additional details, write or call Ms. Jeri McAllister at

also conducted these seminars on-site during the last year. To initiate
discussions for conducting a tailored on-site seminar at your facility,

The Guidance and Control Information Analysis Center, sponsored by the
Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) and operated by IIT
Research Institute (IITRI) since 1977, is sponsoring a one-day seminar
on GENESIS 2.0 Model. The seminar will be held in Huntsville, AL on 05
May 1995. The GENEric Smart Indirect fire Simulation (GENESIS) was
developed by IITRI to model many-on-many effectiveness of smart
weapons. The GENESIS development was sponsored by the Army Materiel
Command-Smart Weapons Mangement Office (AMC-SWMO), and is being
validated by the Army Materiel Study and Analysis Agency (AMSAA).
Written for a PC platform, version 2.0 marks significant improvements
and provides user-friendly input, simulation, and report generation
features. GENESIS is for project engineers, weapon system designers,
system program analysts, and anyone who needs to perform ``what if'' or
parametric studies of smart weapons system effectiveness. The seminar
attendees will learn to set up input files, build applications, perform
analyses, interpret results, and make batch runs. The seminar will
review all features of the model along with case studies to demonstrate
various applications. The seminar will be UNCLASSIFIED. For additional
details, write or call Ms. Jeri McAllister, at IIT Research Institute,
