COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MARCH 21,1995 PSA#1307PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM SIMULATION PROGRAM Sandia National Laboratory has
developed a Photovoltaic System Simulation Program For Stand Alone and
Grid Interactive Applications called PVFORM. During design of PV
systems, PVFORM may assist the designer in optimizing system design to
achieve the maximum economic benefit given its proposed location and
operating conditions. Given either program supplied default values or
user supplied data for program parameters, PVFORM performs a series of
hourly calculations to determine the physical (photovoltaic)
performance of the PV system being simulated. These interactive
calculations sample performance throughout a 365 day year of system
operation and are accomplished hourly. Results are summarized on a
monthly basis in output tables. PVFORM Version 3.3 will run on PCs
running MS-DOS 3.0 or later, on a mini-computer, or any mainframe that
supports ANSI FORTRAN 77. PVFORM requires a minimum of 256 kilobytes
of RAM. A Math Co-Processor is strongly recommended to enhance
performance. PVFORM Version 4.0 has been developed to operate in a
windows environment but requires testing before release. Sandia is
seeking U.S. companies who will further expand the commercial potential
of this product by assuming responsibility for maintaining, updating,
and distributing PVFORM, and by supporting user inquiries. For further
information, please respond by mail or fax to Kay Carter at: Sandia
