COMMUNICATION ASSISTANCE FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT ACT (CALEA) POC: Talecommunications Contracts and Audits Unit (TCAU), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Room 6875, JEH-FBI Building, 10th and Pennsylvania Avenue N.W., Washington, D.C. 20535. The CALEA, Public Law 103-414 directs the Attorney General of the United States to, after notice and comment, establish regulations necessary to effectuate timely and cost efficient payments to telecommunications carriers/providers so effected by the legislation. Criteria for entitlement to reimbursement is set forth in CALEA. This authority, to establish regulations, has been redelegated to the FBI. The purpose of this notice is to establish a mailing list of interested, effected parties whose comments will be solicited regarding proposed procedures and processes inclusive of agreement terms and conditions as well as cost recovery regulations. All request to be placed on the mailing list must be in writing to the aforementioned FBI address, Attenion: TCAU.
